This championship course designed by Jack Nicklaus is undoubtedly one of the finest golf courses in Thailand. The three nines comprising the 27-hole layout-'Mountain', 'Lake' and 'Creek' offer interesting variations in terrain. The rolling hills of the surrounding countryside have been used to maximum effect. The exposed rock formations add to the beauty of the fairways. Lakes, ponds and creeks pose a major threat to stray shots and some of the water carries are very challenging. The large, undulating greens are mostly elevated and protected by wide bunkers. Excellent clubhouse facilities complement the outstanding golf course.

The “B” and “C” nines are designed like the “Stadium” courses in the Americas, while the “A” nine is a tough test up and down the mountain. All are surrounded by hills, so when the wind blows, players need to plan their shots on account of the numerous bunkers surrounding the greens and large ponds surrounding the fairways. The Dye Signature hole is the 8th hole on the “B” course; it is a very challenging par three where the tee shot must be hit to an island green. Clubhouse facilities are extensive, providing locker rooms for all and a very reasonable restaurant for an after golf meal and beverage.

NATURAL PARK HILLS GOLF COURSE

The designer has created a very pretty course with beautiful flowers and trees providing a backdrop to every green. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition. The unique par fives, 6th and 14th, both have the greens tucked behind huge water hazards and the dogleg approach makes the holes even more exacting. Two of the par-three holes require the player to hit "water carries" to island greens. There are pleasant views of the course from the clubhouse, which provides most amenities.

NATURAL PARK RESORT GOLF COURSE

A 27-hole park and course comprising three nines, the layout is somewhat uninteresting, but has been improved by extensive use of palm trees lining the fairways. There are some good dogleg holes, particularly the third on the "In" course. At this hole it is important to "place" the tee shot to avoid the huge expanse of water on the left and well placed traps on the right; the second shot has to be hit over water and the shot to the green is well guarded by bunkers. The short eighth on the "out" course is an exciting hole, as the tee shot has to be played to an island green. Clubhouse facilities are of a very high standard.

SIAM COUNTRY CLUB

If you ask any of the long time residents to the Pattaya area they will tell you Siam is one of the toughest scoring courses in Thailand. The up and down layout, plus the Gulf of Siam's winds make this a real test of golf. The holes wander past a series of well placed lakes and creeks. An ill-placed shot on seemingly generous fairways is suddenly blocked out by the mature strategically placed trees. The grainy greens, with subtle breaks, require the assistance of one of the experienced caddies to guarantee a memorable round.

Designed by Dennis Griffith and Associates, set in a wooded, rolling terrain, this 27 hole design (Mountain, Lake and Ocean) boasts magnificent views of the Gulf of Siam and surrounding mountains. Extensive use of water demands cautious play on the fairways. The greens, although expansive have their own personality which make a three putt possible at any moment. Many huge Mango, eucalyptus trees and flowering scrubs add to the colour and natural feeling of the course.

CENTURY RAYONG GOLF CLUB

Century Rayong (Banchang to the locals) is a diamond in the rough. Superbly designed on a piece of property which makes every hole a sight from the tee and a test to any level of golfer. Rolling thru the hills of Banchang, you never seem to have a flat lie. Although not long on the score card, 6,048 off the white tees, the elevation changes add to the difficulty in club selection. The 4 par three holes will make you think and challenge you with both short and long shots. Almost everyone that plays here can not wait for a rematch against this course.

RAYONG GREEN VALLEY GOLF CLUB

Located on route three between Sattahip and Rayong near Ban Chang town, this intelligent, beautifully landscaped course is lodged on the side of a hill and thus takes its features from the large rocky outcrops, boulders and native fauna that are featured in the local terrain. Bunkers have been used very intelligently, inviting a good golfer to go for the drive over them while the (experienced) lesser player has plenty of room to lay up. The Rayong Green Valley complex also incorporates a large fine clubhouse, equestrian track and a polo club.

GREAT LAKE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Situated on the magnificent Dok Krai reservoir's banks, the eight-year-old Nick Faldo designed Great Lake Golf & Country Club is truly magnificent. However, although the club could have easily relied on Dok Krai's water for its natural hazards, Faldo has also incorporated an astonishing 120 bunkers into its design -- eleven of which can be found along the par-four 18th, the course's most famous hole. Club house and local hotel facilities are of the usual very high standard.

Burapha Golf Club was one of the MEMBER ONLY courses in Pattaya, however in recent years they have begun to allow green fee play. Two distinctive courses designed by David Graham and Gary Panks. The course entrance is directly across from Laem Chabang, making two of the finest courses on the Eastern Seaboard neighbours. Both courses are kept in top condition and are very worthwhile to play. A spacious design utilising the slightly hilly terrain, you must keep aware of the elevation changes.
