MISSION HILLS KANCHANABURI

Designed by Jack Nicklaus and approximately an hour and 45 minutes from Bangkok, the 18-hold Mission Hills Golf Club is a beauty. Set on a sloping shallow hill, mature palms line the fairways of this outstanding course that relies on water, sand, trees and--Nicklaus' specialty -- waste bunkers for its hazards. The course has a choice of five well-spaced tees for players to choose from and provides luxurious accommodation in its lakeside lodges.

DRAGON HILLS GOLF CLUB

This club was originally scheduled as 54 holes of golf on three courses-Dragon Pearl, Dragon Green and Dragon Lakes. However due to the economic down turn only 18 holes have been built. Jim Engh and Isao Aoki designed the two Nines respectively. The course offers a combination of undulating fairways and greens, lateral water hazards, 'water carry holes', dogleg holes and subtle placement of bunkers. The Aoki nine has a combination of 3 par 3’s, three par 4’s and three par 5’s, a unique set up. Added to this, the super scenic backdrop during play is refreshing for the golfer.

MAJESTIC CREEK COUNTRY CLUB

The Majestic Creek Country Club is yet another creation of Thailand's foremost golf architect, Dr.Sukitti Klangvisai. At 7,123 yards it is one of the longest courses in Thailand, and it also claims to have the longest hole in the Kingdom at 770 yards, which becomes a par six! Dr.Sukitti, together with the Thai/American shaping team have produced a layout, which needs to be played with imagination and skill. Valleys in the nearby mountains supply water to the maze of streams winding around the course, and the builders have been careful to preserve them as natural hazards.

LAKEVIEW PRINCESS GOLF CLUB & RESORT

Adventure is the style of this absorbing course. Greens are the well-defined fairways provide the necessary pointers for golfers to retain a sense of direction. Rolling fairways and spectacular mounding around the greens can make some approach shots quite tricky. The par-three fourteenth is one of the outstanding holes on the course in that both tees and green are islands within a large lake, only accessible by footbridges from the mainland.

SPRINGFIELD ROYAL GOLF COURSE

Springfield is generally considered as one of the premier golfing resorts of Thailand. The course is an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all standards. The opening holes reveal the need for accuracy and the character of the course becomes more intriguing, as length is also an important factor on many of the following holes. These are mostly flank by a series of hillocks covered by a forest of young trees, and the fairways thread their way through well-placed hazards towards greens of the highest international standard. Hotel accommodations are available.

ROYAL HUA HIN GOLF COURSE

Although the Royal Hua Hin Golf Club first opened in 1924, major renovations were carried out in the 1980’s that have brought the club up to present day standards. A round here is a truly unforgettable experience as players are continuously faced with majestic views of the Gulf of Thailand. The par-three 18th is one to behold, for a beautiful Thai temple forms a picture-worthy background.
Testament to the club’s age, and the Asia of the period that the club was built in, is the sight of the old Hua Hin, Bangkok-Singapore railway station which lies adjacent to the club-house, contributing an air of elegance to the course.
